Home Made Tube Notcher

I've wanted a tube notcher for ages! The thing is the reports I read about the ones I could afford are not great and having read Garys write up I thought I'd be better off making my own. So I did over the Christmas period. I've got holesaws but they are expensive to buy and get eaten up quite quickl...

Re: New Magizine

Great idea. Here in the UK a magazine tried to do that but for various reasons it has not worked. Our main mag custom bike magazine does a tech article or two every month which is interesting and informative and is aimed at shed/garage builders with minimal tooling. I'll happily write an arti...

Re: sugar bear springer on sporty

Really good thread this. I've noticed quite a few trikes over here in the UK running large amounts of negative trail and having spoken to the owners they "Say" they have had no issues with it. Upon talking to them further they usually did not know what trail was or how to measure it? I'm a...

Re: a Jig is just a Tool

Yep I'd agree with that Gary.

The learning process is the fun part although sometimes frustrating. Always trying to improve my technique in metal working and welding etc.

It helps that I love welding. TIg, Mig or Stick it just always relaxes me.

Re: a Jig is just a Tool

Interesting points here and more info from everyone on their methods would be an interesting insight into different techniques. I learnt and built for years without a frame jig. It actually taught me good practice (if you payed attention when welding) as it was extremely easy to get some serious dis...

Re: Hello Again

Oh and I forgot to say that I'm helping a pal build a Diesel bike! Thats in bit's in the workshop and will be up on the jig in a week or so! My pal is a CNC machinist and has made some rather nice bits to bolt the required other bits together in the correct order. My job is to make a bracket (frame)...

Re: Hello Again

Hi Maz Well I've not been doing a great deal as about this time last year I'd got a tad unwell. It turned out to be a nightmare and have only been back on my feet for a about 3 months  When I say I've done nothing much I've been in preparation for my return to something close to normal. Now I'...

Re: Paulie Jr. Moving to Napa

At the risk of being struck off everyone's X-mas list: what's the problem with Paulie Jr? He got lucky and now people pay him to play in his workshop. I wish that deal would land in my lap. I don't like the bikes he puts together but then I doubt he'd like mine. The guy's making a living good luck ...

Hello Again

Well I'm Glad to see that it's all back up and running again. I was on the old forum about a year ago before it turned it's toes up! My Name then was Byzmax! I'm into anything mechanical and build trikes and bikes as a self funding hobby that is slowly becoming a living. Anyhow glad to see this empo...

Re: Paulie Jr. Moving to Napa

Having watched a little of the OCC soap opera over here in the UK I can't get my head around why it's so popular. Here in the UK there are a few builders that are chasing the dream of charging mega pounds (Mega and a half bucks) for a chopper. They seem to go bankrupt pretty damn quick though. Most ...
