Re: Where to have welds tested?
Wow! Awesome stuff here. Well the question was truly about verifying my skills before I set out to build my own frame(s) and it had been answered more than sufficiently. Great info and knowledge shared. You know... this looking for “authoritative testing” may have just been another attempt of mine t...

Re: Motor dilemma??
Wise words I once grabbed from CBH long ago stated "The way to finish your [first] chopper is to not let your ambitions exceed your abilities". Sorry I've forgotten the author. But yes, "abilities" includes financial resources as well as talents, tools, and time. However, (althou...

Where to have welds tested?
I really want to do the welding myself.
And I REALLY don't want to die yet.
What type of company should I look for to send my weld samples to for distructive testing?
I could bang them about myself but I'm looking for an authoritative professional testing.

Re: New Magizine
This seems pretty dead, aye?
Was working on a write up of single to three phase conversion for the home hobbyist - which I'm finally moving forward on again.
Any other action happening?

Re: free alt Acad software
I took a certificate course in CADD last year at a not so local community college and a large part of the training was exercises in visualizing from 3D to 2D and back again. I'm fortunate in that I understand all of that visual spacial stuff and normally think that way anyway. (But, of course, I won...

Re: New Magizine
I'm not worthy - But I've gained so much here that I've just gotta give back somehow. Additions to this rag is now posted onto my yearly projects list. I could certainly share my experience, my humble beginings and how to get through them - building tools, learning how to make stuff so that I can ma...

I haven't tried this one yet.
Question - Will draftsight save as a PDF file? Does it import autoCAD or any other file types? It may prove to be the solution to a pesky problem I'm having currently.

Re: Diamond Frames
Might have to see it applied to know, but I'd imagine that the "diamond" girder from your gs550 chop on this frame would be... uhm, I dunno... too much of the same?
Nice neck, btw.

Re: Nice to be here
Oh, Whew! Here's the CBH site! And bonus, the granddaddy, too!
Nice to find that this is the genuine article and not given over to some group who doesn't care or have a real clue.
