a few shots from around here

Post by budoka »

i actually AM always busy doing stuff but i really suck at remembering to take photos. i'll try to get better at that and get some stuff posted up, but in the meantime here are some shots from around here.

a gokart i'm building for me and the kids to play around on, my lil' ol' hot-rodded Suzuki Birdie scooter (just cuz i can't leave almost anything untouched, LOL), my Harleys and VW, and a gratuitous shot of my knucklehead by himself.

wanna know more about any of them, just say so.

take care,
-dan

yeah, stock vs way not stock, LOL.

the lil Birdie is a badass sleeper too, though. 125cc engine in a tiny lightweight scooter frame. loads of fun for the daily lane-splittin' battle and quick grocery runs.

lane splittin up the outside is so common, the cops almost never even pay any attention to it. usually a breeze, but ya gotta watch out for kids gettin outta their parents' cars suddenly in the mornings.

i am so jealous of you guys that get to lane split without cops hasseling you . here i usually go through the middle to make it harder for the police to chase ya . you just have to watch out for the ones who think they own the road and your not passing them no matter what or the ones that get scared and swerve towards the noise

it's a Chinese knockoff of a Honda engine for Monkeys. it's a Loncin 125. i'm actually impressed with it so far, 9.5 HP and starts and runs beautifully. just finished the break-in period today, so now i'm gonna go throw it around some mountain roads and see how it does.

I can think of a few more applications for such a low-profile little engine!

SELF INTRODUCTION: Hi Dan, thanks for your time and energy spent on this new board. I hope you will give me a waiver on the email account, I have used gmail so long I don't have a clue what my service provider account is.
I just returned home from a 2 week trip in New Mexico, have a few good pix, can't wait to share my off-highway traveling. Got to put 1400 miles on the scoot.

I remember when you were posting your build log for the Knuckle.
Impressive what you accomplished with no shop and few tools.
Came out beautifully too!
You were hammering out the seat pan on the ground with a mallet, IIRC. :o

Have you entered in any shows there? I bet you get a lot of kudos for it.
