To any of you that has to take a stress test....do it and listen.... had to do one in 2008, as I had never done one and was complaining that my jaw ached when I over did some things.....They said I passed with flying colors....sounded good to me ,,,,but...I lost 40 pounds and exercised more , just to be sure ! lately went I ran or did anything at an increased pace, I felt winded and mentioned it to my doc and said that I was going to start running again....he said whoa, let's do some test first and ....yes , one was the hated stress test....showed that this time I wasn't getting circulation to my lower left ventricle !
They did a heart catheter last Friday and put in a stent and ballooned another part of the vein, that they could not get a stent into....my bottomline is 3 veins blocked , 2 at 50% and 1 at 90 %, I am probably looking at open-heart surgery in 7 to 10 yrs, as a stent is not a permanent fix. I will be on blood thinners for the rest of my life....all that sucks , but sure glad I am sitting here typing this..... so if ya jaw aches or you are short of breath and you feel as if you have a dry cough.....Talk to a good heart doc ! If you are broke or no insurance, Check out some of these WebMD's .....You can change your eating habits, increase your exercise by just a 40 minute walk a day......there is really a lot you can do, cause let's face it ....YOU are not Superman....and you can't see thru no dirt....!!!!

I can't say I know what your feeling, but, I know what you mean. I ran into my own kryptonite back in '04. I doubt Ill ever have the endurance I once had, but, I know I'll never be the same.

What I've learned with age is that you shouldn't live like there's no tomorrow...burning the candle at both ends. You've got to cast aside the unimportant things, and, consentrate on things you won't have to defend tomorrow. I wish I was better at it!!!

SELF INTRODUCTION: Hello everyone. first of all a big thanks to "Dan the Man". Some of you know me from the previous (2) boards and some don't, so here goes. I have been a fabricator/welder for over 40 years now. Damn that's a helluva long time to do anything! Anyways, I have built literaly 100's of street rods, pro streeters, racecars, bikes and trikes over the years. Never made the headlines and never will. I do what I do because it is the love of my life.
I enjoy reading the posts on the forum and try to contribute when I can. I am sure that this will be every bit as good as the CBH forum, as we will have most of the same folks. Good luck and post a lot of pics!! Jim

Yeah, it happens to all of us sooner or later. 3 years ago some damn autoimmune decease that I had never heard of hit me. Between the decease and the drugs, it dam near took me out. No matter what it is, you find out that you are not invincible. You start to appreciate things a little more.
Whoa!...Musta stood up too fast...
