The first year of the Sport Scout had a belt and the owners weren't very happy with having to remove the outer primary cover, all the primary drive, transmission oil, then the inner primary to get to the belt. So they changed to the chain. which was easier to change but still problematic. They moved the generator down low and forward for class C racing. I carry a spare at all times and a piece of weed eater string to pull it in to place.
