just went thru your build at the link...

I am floored by what you are doing. Not sure even HOW you know how to mix and match all those parts, or
even make it all work together.

Serious skills there.

I like the smaller motorcycle sized trikes.

This thing is packed in there to make it this small.

And that is basically just the engine.
The trans and everything else is a mix match hodge podge of stuff that ain't supposed to fit together.
When the original build happened was before smart phones and always having a camera in your pocket. I have just a few pics of the original build towards the end, I got me one of those new fangled digital cameras that had just came out.

wow, that thing is wickedly cool. even more so to me since my daily driver is a '69 VW Type 3 Squareback.

looks like the intake manifolds are custom made, and i can't quite tell what the carbs are. Dellorto?

You have a nice project going on there. One question though, is it hard to get on and off of it with all of the carbs and exhaust located where they are?

Ahaaaa....another vw guy huh?
I no longer have a vw car. Well....not entirely true....I do have a 61 Karmen sedan convertible that I want to make a volks rod out of. But it is just a pile right now.

Yes the intakes are fabbed units and no that is not carbs or Dells.
That is 44mm mikuni throttle bodies and Mitsubishi injectors.

This is a 2387 fuel injected distributor less stroker motor.

It is more difficult than a standard motorcycle to get onto.
Luckily it is low. When you swing your leg over the seat you just have to continue on over the air cleaner also.
Which in itself is no big deal but by the time you leg is that far out you are past balance point and just plop down on the seat.

It spent a large number of years as a 2110 big head big cam with 44idf clones.
It was quite twitchy with 3.88 ring and pinion.
It wound up putting in a 3.44 ring and pinion, 1.26 third and a .82 fourth. That helped a lot. Before it physically took longer to shift it than it took to pull the gear. Was common to hit valve float before you could stick the next gear. The bigger gears put a little time between shifts.

As this is a motorcycle forum, most of my posting is of the motorcycle nature.
I have not put much of the engine trans vw stuff up here.
If y'all want some pics of the less motorcycle type parts or info on the mechanical I can post that up.
