got a lil jump on customize it building the internal throttle cable from the designs he posted I been wanting to do one of these for a while just haven't had the cash to buy one to copy . had a few hours at work to play on the lathe today so I thought id give it a go I just love when they pay me to make bike parts for myself . it sounds like custom is going to build a couple of these so I hope we can help each other along there are a few points im still not clear on like shouldn't there be a spring in there to return the plunger ? anyway I made all the main parts on the lathe that I could I still gotta cut the bevel in the slide and cut the slots on the mill I am unsure how to make the angle cut in the in the tube on page 11 . I should be able to get the bearings some time this week. I made everything to the size on the prints in mm and it was a pain in the ass I don't know mm im used to inch guess I should have paid attention in class when they were trying to teach this stuff oh well live and learn

SELF INTRODUCTION: I was on the last board as bonustoolkit. I have changed that to my given name. I started a project build there " File and Fit." I paln to continue that when I go back home in Dec. 2011. I first joined the board when Gary W had it in the year 2005. That was the time I really gained an interest in building chops. I have a long way to go, compared to some here.
SELF INTRODUCTION: Hi Dan, thanks for your time and energy spent on this new board. I hope you will give me a waiver on the email account, I have used gmail so long I don't have a clue what my service provider account is. I just returned home from a 2 week trip in New Mexico, have a few good pix, can't wait to share my off-highway traveling. Got to put 1400 miles on the scoot.

im building the first one to the plans once I understand everything ill be easier to see how I need to modify it for my use . ill probly never use the first one for anything but refrence for me having one in hand is better than a blueprint I can see the changes in my head sometimes hard to spit em out but I get there

I like the idea of having a tube over the slotted tube I want to make a set for both sides so close to the regular bars it barely noticeable I want to run them with no grips just bare steel so it looks like just handlebars with nothing on em super clean . these will be for my old triumph project no front brake no turn signals no battery minimal wireing minimal everything should weigh less than 250 lbs when im done .

ya it will be clean my outer grip part will be bigger than the bars and turned like the reat of my parts in the same style but bigger than the handle bar tube!
I am going to make out of hex stock so ther willl be the hex to turn and hold the grips as i turn the baurs because of my goosneck being out so far!
If you made your hande bars 1 3/8 and the innere with a sleave 1 in tube you could run a outer slot tube 1 1/4 and have a grip of 1 3/8 and have no breaks in the bars like you want and make completly from dom tube stock?
