I do not see your threaded stop for the outer slot tube to hold it on to the inner tube?

I am going to just use a grade 8 bolt allen head turn / cut the head down and thread the inner tube for the 3/4 tread and that will be my stop for it.

Easy and do not have to turn it out on the lathe either?

haven't got that far yet I don't mind the lathe time I just reciently learned to thread with the lathe so I could use the practice but I do like your idea have to think about that

Don't know if this will help, but I started taking the Handle Bars on the Simplex apart Today. This is how the slotted Throttle Grip is held on.What I didn't get was showing the Hole on the other side of the Bars. The Pin sits flush on the other side.

How does that move the cable?

Does the whole grip move outward off pin not rotate in one spot with the cable clamped somehow on the end of the grip/outer tube?

Thanks for sharing!

That's right...the whole Grip moves outward as you twist it.the Cable is held on the End by a little Barrel Clamp.

Now that I understand what this rig is meant to do , Yes if you make a lot of light cuts it should do the job . I would use that to make a more substantial tool first and use that one to make all further cuts !

This jig has turned out to be a POS for what I had intended!

BUT it does do one thing really well!

Over .005 cut it does not make a perfect cut.

So, it drill the beging and end hole and use grinder to cut the line made from milling.

Do I make one and try to produce better jig or be happy I have a process?

If you like this type of R&D...I'ld say to go for the finish.

A few things I noticed...You got slpo in your setup. You may not have accounted for the backlash of your mill.
