My 1st attempt at seat making. Turned out pretty good imo. Few imperfections but it is hand made & thats what it all about. The pan was a little weak but instead of remaking it I reinforced it. I still need to do some trim work on the seam.

Got another item scratched off the list. The jockey shifter is finished minus fine tuning the linkage (to be done after final assembly). Had to cross over to the left side, and it was a tight fit getting the linkage to work but there it is.

Thanks man...I’m glad I was able to fit it in. This frame is much thinner than the 1st one.

Hub & spokes back from Buchanans, the best they could ID the hub was saying it was an unbranded chopper hub from the 70s. I had sent them a rim that was 1.85" wide but spoke pattern was way off. Had to resend what I had & that was 2.15wide. Most of the hub was in decent shape, only had to make 1 piece. Cant find the shoes anywhere so Ill probably look into having the originals relined. Made a brake stay & mounted the tire. All thats left to do is make a brake cable & powder coat it.

I started on a mount for the brake caliper. Dont care for it to much, we'll see what it looks like after more cleaning up.
also redesigned the foot controls & got them mounted

Itook some time to tighten up my shifter linkage. 1st I had to make a stud for the bottom of the trans, so I could get it tight to make the adjustments. I threw the crank in & primary. The cover for the chain was made at this point. When things were where I wanted them I cut down the shifter & bent it for comfort. Got the master cylinder mounted, still need to find a good spot for the reservoir.

Some exhaust work...Not having a bender for this, I have to cut alot of radius pieces. Originally I was going make the pipes bolt to the heads, but I wound up just using the stock spigots. They were in rough shape so I cut the fins off. Think theres about 30 peices so far.Ran out of tube so wil have to order more. The pipes are 1 5/8 that will go to 2" after the collector.

Some of the things I was working on got put on hold. So I thought now would be a good time to something I’d planned on but in no hurry to do. I made a kick peddle out of a couple wrenches. Saw a pic of this done, so I did mine a little different.

SELF INTRODUCTION: I'm from Arkansas. Farm equipment mechanic. Love working on bikes with my 7yr old daughter. Single dad. Doing it all on my own. Good standing member over on the Honda rebel forum and TCU forum. My first chopper build was a Honda Rebel 250. Looking for a big brother to it. A Honda Rebel 450. I'm wanting to build a girder for the 250 and was told that this is the place to come for knowledge and help.
