- SELF INTRODUCTION: Hi Dan, thanks for your time and energy spent on this new board. I hope you will give me a waiver on the email account, I have used gmail so long I don't have a clue what my service provider account is.
I just returned home from a 2 week trip in New Mexico, have a few good pix, can't wait to share my off-highway traveling. Got to put 1400 miles on the scoot.

Re: 1979 Honda CB750 Bobber build
Hey guys and gals, more progress. Setting up hardtail for welding, got lower axle plates welded in lower frame rails and prepairing the top tube of hardtail for axle plate upper welding. Also got lower frame rail spacer fabed and ready to weld in place, working on the seatpost down tube and lower spacer tube for welding in place. Slow and steady, trying to not have anything twist out of shape while welding. Going to mount front new tire on rim, it has been waiting forever hahaha

I like the brace tubes, but will they clear the tank?

Hi Railroadbob, I fabed the bracing so they came lower underneath backbone. Hope to clear enough space for custom built gas tank, I guess time will tell.

Finally more progress on my build, got hardtail almost all done. Axle plates all welded in place, working on the seatpost and lower frame rail spacer tube coping. Then get it all tack welded in place.

Is there a particular reason you put the Braces back on the Backbone to the Legs?It looked much better without.Have you given any Thought to redesigning the Gusset so you wouldn't need them? But if the Tank will hide them guess it doesn't matter.....You disappeared for awhile Dude.....glad you're back on the Build.

Re: 1979 Honda CB750 Bobber build
Hey Jeff L, I did the bracing the same as Honda had the frame. I need in between to mount my dual coil system for engine, if I did big gusset in between then no room for coils. Still learning and designing as I go along, not quitting on the build just been busy with life stuff.
