My daugher came up, and hung out for the day and sanded the tank. Looks awesome. And then we did a final pressure test, and she grabbed the blow gun and instead of the little blast I had been giving it, she held it wide open, and gave it 100psi. She looks happy because she doesnt know that she blew out half the seams........All good though. Had a ton of fun with her. And she works cheap.

Derek sent me some pics tonight of another piece to the puzzle......I was taking a mental health day, and havent done anything, but he was busting ass again. That big block of billet is going to be a star hub to mate to a juice drum.
He says it hasnt been done before, but he wanted to try, and I'm stoked to be the guinea pig. This is gonna be good.

This is what hes matching, robbed a couple pics from his instagram, but thats his hub, and then mated up to a Visonary Cycle products(I beleive) rim. Basically the same setup hes doing for me. Should make for a very nice pair.

My evening update from Derek........I never can get enough of freshly machined pics........

The non drum side is done. Drive side has dowel holes, and through holes, drive side is a nice tight fit to the bolt head in the counterbore.
Since the drum bolts are an oddball 20tpi bolt, he cutting down the longer bolts to the shank, rethreading them to 20tpi, and I believe there was a mention of tapered heads to help locate, but this is his game not mine...
Said he has to cut a taper to the mounting face since the drum face is not flat, and he'll clean up and taper the spoke flange and cut the contour in the middle to match the front hub.
Its also getting a stainless insert for the bearings, so they're no pressed straight into the aluminum

Got started on my tank mounts, need to get them finished before I can skin the tanks. Rubber mounting them to give them a little cushion.
My buddy dropped off a couple insulators to make a taillight lense, and Derek got the bearing pocket into one side of the rear hub......

Derek got the bearings into the non drum side last night.

I borrowed a tile saw and cut the insulator up to make a more taillight lense sized chunk,

And I got my tanks mounted.

And for tonight I'm parking it in front of the tree to protest christmas being set up so early.............

I cut a couple side panels, would be easier with an english wheel, but Ill make do.
While I started welding, my daughter whipped up some filler bungs, so we got one side together at least before I packed it in for the night.

Dereks got the hub done and it looks phenomanal. He tapered the face where the spokes are, and had to put an angle to the face where the drum contacts. Then he got it back on the lathe and spun it down to match the front.
Hes got a rim coming and is going to lace it up soon.
